Travix appoints new CEO and COO
Online travel agency Travix has welcomed Casper Maasdam and Lesley Zandvliet in the roles of Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, respectively.
The leadership appointments are said to reflect Travix’s ‘continued commitment to making travel simple and affordable’.
Casper Maasdam takes over as CEO from Chee Teong Ooi, who has led Travix’s strategic development since late 2022, facilitating Travix’s integration into the Trip.com Group
He will continue to be an active board member of Travix, while Maasdam has been with Travix for over seven years, most recently as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the company’s daily operations.
Before joining Travix, he gained extensive experience in the travel and aviation industries through leadership roles at TUI, ArkeFly, Thomas Cook Netherlands, and Schreiner Aviation Group.
“I’m proud to step into the CEO role and continue to build on the strong foundations we’ve laid over the past couple of years and to leverage our commercial strategy to set Travix up for long-term success as part of the Trip.com Group,” said Maasdam.
“With a well-known hero brand, CheapTickets, strong flight content, and a solid metasearch presence, I’m excited to further unlock Travix’s potential and strengthen our position as a key player - both in the Dutch and Belgian markets and beyond.”
Lesley Zandvliet has been named Chief Operating Officer. She has played a key role in driving operational improvements at Travix as Chief of Staff and Director of Operational Excellence, where she introduced Lean Six Sigma practices and led cross-team initiatives. Lesley previously worked at ING and Booking.com and has a background in Business Administration and consultancy.
“I’m thrilled to take on this new challenge,” said Zandvliet. “Travix is at a pivotal point where enhancing our operational efficiency and aligning teams around shared goals is crucial.”
