Expedia launches agent portal

Expedia.com has launched a new portal to help agents who use its affiliate system manage their accounts.

Expedia’s Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP) scheme gives agents access to Expedia’s selection of travel products and services. It also permits them to book through the Expedia website and earn commission.

The new Expedia Access Portal allows agents to personalise and rebrand documents by adding their own logos and messages.

They can download invoices and itineraries into Microsort Word/Outlook to send onto clients, and generate activity reports to help monitor bookings and commission.

The site also features news and information on promotions and incentives.

“The Expedia Access platform reflects the close consultation we have had with travel agents,” said Diego Pedrani, global head of TAAP.

“We have included as many agent requests as possible in the system. Personalising itineraries and invoices with the agents’ own logo is a request we have heard often, as is the ability for agents to check their commission at a glance. We have developed these and many other features to streamline the administrative process.”

The platform allows agents to place an Expedia search widget on their own site, while still earning commission on bookings consumers make through the agents’ site.

Agents already using TAAP will be migrated across to the new platform in the coming weeks.

The affiliate programme TAAP is currently used by more than 15,000 travel agencies globally.
